Authorship And Ethical Issues
Firstly, authorship should include and should be limited to those who have contributed substantially to the design, performed research, analyzed data, contributed new methods, and written the paper. Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal Mansoura Vet. Med. J.) asks the authors to submit their contribution to the manuscript in a specified section. The corresponding author is responsible for the accuracy of data regarding names, addresses, affiliations, and order of all authors.
Mansoura Veterinary Medical Journal follows the rules and regulations set by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Therefore, the authors are asked to prepare their manuscripts accordingly.
Before submission, all authors should read and approve the final version of the manuscript. It is a prerequisite that all authors have been approved as appropriate upon submission of the manuscript. Acknowledgment of contributors who do not qualify as authors should be mentioned under a specified section.
Change in authorship: After provisional acceptance, it is not allowed to do any change in authorship. Deletion or change in order of author name is not acceptable.
Acknowledgment:Under the Acknowledgement section, please specify contributors to the article other than the authors credited. Please also include specifications of the source of funding for the study and any potential conflict of interest if appropriate.
Peer Review
The journal is devoted to peer-review integrity with the highest standards of review. Each received manuscript is initially evaluated for suitability to the journal by the editor. Manuscripts are rejected by the editors if they are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, need extensive improvement in the language, or do not fall within the aims and scope of the journal. Manuscripts deemed suitable are sent to a minimum of two external peer reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. This journal operates a double-blind review process (the names and information of the reviewers are hidden from the author). Editors will make a decision based on the reviewers’ reports and authors are sent these reports along with the editorial decision on their manuscript. Authors should note that even in light of one positive report, concerns raised by another reviewer may fundamentally undermine the study and result in the manuscript being rejected.
Ethical approvals for animal experimentation
When experimental animals are used, the methods section must clearly indicate that adequate measures were taken to minimize pain or discomfort. Experiments should be performed in accordance with the Guidelines of the International Animal Ethics Committee or Institutional Ethics Committee and in accordance with local laws and regulations. All studies using animal subjects should include an explicit statement in the Material and Methods section identifying the review and ethics committee approval for each study, if applicable. Editors reserve the right to reject papers if there is doubt as to whether appropriate procedures have been used.
Complying with Ethics of Experimentation
Please ensure that all research reported in submitted papers has been conducted in an ethical and responsible manner, and is in full compliance with all relevant codes of experimentation and legislation. All original research papers involving humans, animals, plants, biological material, protected or non-public datasets, collections, or sites, must include a written statement under an Ethics Approval section including the following:
- The name of the ethics committee(s) or institutional review board(s) involved.
- The number or ID of the ethics approval(s).
- A statement that human participants have provided informed consent before taking part in the research.
- Research involving animals must adhere to ethical standards concerning animal welfare. All original research papers involving animals must:
- Follow international, national, and institutional guidelines for the humane treatment of animals.

Studies in Humans and Animals
If the work involves the use of human subjects, the author should ensure that the work described has been carried out in accordance with The Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association (Declaration of Helsinki) for experiments involving humans. The manuscript should be in line with the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals and aim for the inclusion of representative human populations (sex, age, and ethnicity) as per those recommendations. The terms sex and gender should be used correctly.
Authors should include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects. The privacy rights of human subjects must always be observed.
All animal experiments should comply with the ARRIVE guidelines and should be carried out in accordance with the U.K. Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, 1986 and associated guidelines,EU Directive 2010/63/EU for animal experiments, or the National Research Council's Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals and the authors should clearly indicate in the manuscript that such guidelines have been followed. The sex of animals must be indicated, and where appropriate, the influence (or association) of sex on the results of the study.

Authors are encouraged to check accession numbers used very carefully. An error in a letter or number can result in a dead link. Note that in the final version of the electronic copy, the accession number text will be linked to the appropriate source in the NCBI databases enabling readers to go directly to that source from the article.
